Re-invented Lamp to Candlestick

This lamp was another thrift store find. Originally, I had turned it into a bird house toilet paper holder...yes...i did that...doesn't that sound lovely? ;) Anyway, this is what it looked like after I took the bird house off of it, pretty much the original state it was in when I bought it, minus the lamp hardware:

Once again, I used black spray paint....

I think it needs something else, I just haven't figured it out yet.  Different candle? Something tied around the top? I'll have to think about it.  If I had a fireplace, I would have 1 of these on each side, for sure!

Old Window Idea

I know there are 10 million ideas on what to do with an old window out there on the internet, well, here's idea 10,000,001.

You take 1 old window.....

Add 2 pieces of a torn apart screen door guard (I'm sure that's not the technical name, hopefully, you know what I'm talking about).....

Give them a fresh coat of paint, hang them on the wall, and this is what you get.....

I decided to hang a wreath that I had made in the middle, because it just needed something else to complete it.  Pretty simple, not a ton of effort but looks great!

Hanging Basket Hook turned into Wreath Hook

I scored this hanging basket hook at a church garage sale for $1.00!

I knew immediately what I was going to do with it...it would make the perfect wreath hook!  So, I transformed it with a can of black spray paint......Ta'da!

Now, I just need to find the perfect spot for it. :)

Doll Baby Diaper Bags

So, for Christmas last year, I wanted to make something special for my 3 nieces and decided to go with diaper bags for their dolls.  I wish I would have taken pics while I was making them, but I didn't. Anyway, here's the final product....

I forgot to take a pic of one of them....aaaargh!

Felt was used on the inside and flannel was used on the outside.  The felt acts as, sort of a stabilizer and gives the bag some weight.  Then I filled it with diapers (duh!), receiving blanket, baby wipes, small stuffed animals, binkies, bibs and other small items.  The girls all seemed to really like them, so all the frustration I had with trying to figure out how to make them, and what type of fabric to use (I'm not much of a sewer), was totally worth it. :)
